Solution for Satellite measurement of energy meters
Measuring energy meters in remote regions where there is no coverage of traditional means of communication is no easy task for power companies. A team is needed to visit the location, generating time and human resources expenditures.
To ease this process, VELP developed a solution, vSkyMeter that performs telemetry in remote areas through satellite communication. A remote satellite is installed in the meter, which collects data and sends it via satellite. A management system captures the information, which performs the georeferencing, monitors the communications status, allows the integration with corporate systems and provides resources for billing in the FK7 and Public formats.
vSkyMeter’s other distinctions are the easy installation of the system, which uses a small antenna that doesn’t require precise pointing to the satellite to make efficient and secure communication, in addition to low cost over other satellite solutions.
